Nick recently had his first real "emergency injury." The other morning, Nick was finishing up his breakfast on the sofa watching cartoons. He likes to snuggle in his Mickey Mouse blanket while he watches his toons each morning. I was in the kitchen packing Nick's lunch for MDO when I heard what sounded like a shotgun going off in my living room, following by an inhalation I could hear and then a delayed scream a few seconds later. i went running into the living room to find Nick on the ground in between our sofa and our coffee had with the definition of a busted open head. Right along his hairline, there was a 2-3 inch gash. After I finally got it to stop bleeding I realized we needed to go straight to the doctor and get some stitches. Luckily for me Grandma and Grandpa were just minutes away because they were coming to keep the babies. I took Grandpa to the dr. office with me and Nick and left B at home with Grandma. After 8 stitches, but surprisingly very few tears, the ordeal was mainly over and we were sent home with follow up care at home of cleaning with hydrogen peroxide twice daily for a week.
After about a week, I started to notice that Nick's hair looked sort of weird. I noticed it was starting to get really light in almost a patch on the top of his head and down the center. After thinking for a few minutes I realized the peroxide I was using to clean Nick's boo boo was bleaching his hair. He kind of looks cute as a platinum blonde...as long as we avoid swimming pools so it doesn't turn green ;)
