Toddler Vocabulary Explosion

Nick's vocabulary is in over drive! Ever since he turned two he starts using probably 20-30 new words a week and is forming them into sentences. They are usually really funny sentences.  He uses all types of sentences : Imperative "Mommy, dance" (when he needs a dance partner for whatever jam is on TV of coming from a toy.) Declarative Sentences like "I hining" (I'm hiding" as he buries his face into the crib). Interrogative ones like "Mama, I hold you?" (meaning Mommy please pick me up) or "Mama, wassi that?" And my favorite Exclamatory ones "Gady..TOP IT...my animal cookies!" "Oh No, my hans"(hands) and "Bennan dropped passy."

Although what is actually more fun than carrying on a conversation with Nick is hearing him sing. His go to song to sing is Twinkle Twinkle although his precious version usually goes "Tinkle Tinkle how a star cycle into la la ARE. Tinkle Tinkle lala STAR" he has the tune down pat. The other say he even did his own remix "Tinkle Tinkle how a star I...Y....Y and Z now know A Cs" mixing the tunes of the two songs too. It cracked me up!

Keep Rollin...Rollin...Rollin

Brennan is the most agile little baby I have ever been around. She has been rolling over for over a month now, but she has started using it as her main mode of transportation. Brennan can cover some serious ground rolling on the floor, like 5 to 10 feet in the living room. Fortunately when she is getting close to an immovable object Nick will go running over saying "TOP BENNAN!" Then we pick her up, move her back to her mat and begin the process again. She moves around just as much in her crib at night. She does a snow angel like maneuver only on her stomach so it causes her to do a 30 in her sleep beginning oriented North, then East, South, West...over and over. It is pretty fun to turn on the picture part of the monitor to figure out what direction B is pointing. Nick calls it B toons when we watch her on the monitor. He will come up to me on the couch and say "B toons on. PEESE"

She is also talking a lot. Cooing and grinning, but also these weird kind of Pterodactyl like sounds as she is exploring the range of her voice. The social smiling that starts at this age is so fun. When you go to change her or catch her eye while she is in her ezcersaucer, she grins at you and it warms your heart! Her last check up went great and we are going to have her baptism on April 21st! And soon she will be able to start eating solid foods and I cannot wait to make all of her baby food again from local sources. It is going to be a really fun summer!
